• Apollo Platinum LLC is a Colorado company in the business of recycling used catalytic converters from internal combustion engines. The Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) found in a converter have many important uses including removing harmful emissions from vehicle exhaust, refining gasoline from crude oil, and in the production of fine jewelry. Platinum is also a key component in the chemistry of fuel cells and has many practical uses in the medical field.

• The Apollo recycling process, unlike our competition, uses an environmentally friendly wet metallurgical process versus submerged arc furnace technology which produces a large amount of Green House Gases (GHGs) that pollute our environment. The US will eventually require all companies to track the GHGs they produce for the entire life cycle of an automobile, which will require companies to include the GHG produced from recycling in their inventories. The current method of recycling uses extreme heat and hence produces a minimum of 38% more GHGs than our process which meets all criteria of a Sustainable Development by Kyoto standards.
